A little less conventional than most your portable dry herb vaporizers – but man this is one for the books! lotus-vaporizer

At first glance the Lotus vape is intriguing, from the beautiful lotus design on cap to the pipe like composition. Don’t be fooled by this one. She’s no regular pipe!
I personally use the Mighty by Storz & Bickel, it's divine – flavor amazing and hard to beat. So when it came to the Lotus I had low expectations but boy was I impressed. No seriously she completely knocked my socks off! At 1st I was taken back, not too sure how to use it and if I was hitting it right. But then once I got the hang of it I was extremely impressed with both flavor and vape production, with only 3 hits I was completely blown away!

Using the Lotus

Start with familiarizing yourself with the parts, the cap with a design that resembles a lotus flower, has a nickel plate on top called the Hot Plate that is used to transfer the heat applied from the torch to the air you inhale and is magnetically connected to the cooling aluminum pipe and stainless steel chamber which is large enough to pack in a good session.

Meticulously handcrafted in the USA, the Lotus is a portable vaporizer that heats up with a butane torch lighter that is supplied in your Lotus vaporizer kit. Saves the hassle of finding one! As there are no batteries and nothing that needs charging it is perfect for the outdoors person or long trips where you don’t have electricity or means to charge – which in my experience has been a bit of a pain. The Lotus is good to go whenever you are!

lotus-cutawayUsing the Lotus its quite simple, once you get into the groove of it you won’t turn back… there is a technique to it but like the Lotus is unique so is the technique, it will depend on you as the user as to what you prefer and what you are looking for. To get the absolute best results for you, you will need to play around with how long you heat, how long and fast you draw and the distance you hold the lighter from the cap.

First thing you will want to check is the size of your flame, the inner flame on your torch should be the length of the distance between two points on the lotus flower pattern on the cap. I like to hold the lighter just as the inner flame touches the center of the lotus flower for 3 or 4 seconds before my initial draw, once I start drawing which I do so slowly like sipping a thick milkshake, I wait for a small red dot to appear at the center then with a circular motion move the dot around the center of the lotus, the bigger the dot the hotter your vape and the bigger your hit will be. Exhaling the 1st hit is amazing, cool flavorful vape production that to me is the closet to a bong hit than other portable vaporizers.

Your draw speed is what determines the vapor production. A slow draw will fill your lungs with thick vapor, while a faster draw will give you smoother, more flavorful hit. The slower you draw, the faster you will have to take the flame away as these units can combust if you get carried away and keep drawing.

After each hit I give the dry herb a stir up with the pin that sticks out the cap – this ensures even vaporizing of your herb and allows you to see how much longer you can use the same herb. As I’ve mentioned above, since the heating method is not controlled by temperature it is possible to combust your herb, although this has yet to happen to me. I have experienced slightly charred herb but could quickly taste it and knew to pull the flame away continuing my session with slightly less heat.

Tasty vapor with no lighter fumes, this is a convection vaporizer that only vapors while you inhale, really is ready in 3 seconds!

Design

I like this one; it’s beautifully constructed and certainly unique. We have a combination of wood and stainless steel cap with a stir stick build in. The pipe has an aluminum stem which helps with the cooling down of vapor before touching your lips, the chamber or bowl is stainless steel and has a capacity of 0.3g of finely ground herb, you want to pack the bowl ½ - ¾ of the capacity for best results.

The pipe and bowl are safe and easy to clean by soaking it off in ISO and the cap screen is easily replaced when needed. It’s very easy to keep clean, once you soak off your pipe rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry. It is important to note not to soak off the wooden cap as this will absorb your ISO and do damage! The screens can be cleaned by soaking off or just simply replaced as they aren’t expensive and saves the hassle of cleaning them.

She comes complete with a carry case to keep all the parts and torch together while safe with extra space for your stash! All-in-one and good to go!

Overall

I am completely, 100% satisfied with the Lotus Vaporizer! To the degree my Mighty and Puffco have been neglected somewhat, truly a great all round experience. I do have to mention that I find it a little less portable for day to day as it could come across slightly dodge or sketchy lighting up with a touch in public, especially for more ignorant and unaware folk. But still very “pipe” like and fits neatly into my bag.

Great for outdoors, hikes, camping and festivals as you are not tired to any battery or power outlet. Just be sure to have extra butane with you while out and about and far from any shops!

Again, the Lotus packs a mighty punch for those who are after a good bong hit this is certainly one to try; you won’t realize it until you exhale how mighty this vape can be!
There is also the water pipe adapter available that fits into 9mm and 14mm downpipe to turn your favorite bong or bubbler into an amazing vaporizer!

Please feel free to comment your experience and any questions…

Happy vaping all!
